What the US gets wrong with wellness

Dr. Lyons explains that, in a sense, true wellness is in simplicity.

I honestly think that … the places in the world that have a more simplistic style of living, a more simplistic food supply, a more simplistic way of approaching health, that is the answer. Wellness, in a way, is stripping back the modern lifestyle that’s making us less healthy. (Dr. Megan Lyons)

However, in the United States of America, the general modern culture is more focused on instant gratification, stimulation, and more of everything: food, items, and entertainment. All of these things end up taking us away from “real wellness and health”, which is more inherently simplistic.

I do think our instant gratification craving is getting us further away from wellness, and it’s what we have wrong in the US. (Dr. Megan Lyons)
